Our ministry focus continues to be pastoral care to Christian missionaries, both on the field and as they return home from the field, however we are now under the umbrella and follow the guidelines established by the board of directors of Pioneer Bible Translators. :-)
Meeting Spiritual and Physical Needs of God’s Local and International People – Rev.5:9-10
Another term for pastoral care is member care, and we are committed to doing member care well. Should needs arise in a field situation, we are prepared to go and help your missionary deal with discouragement, cultural adaptation, marital problems, interpersonal relationships, and spiritual development. Whatever the need, we want to be there for your missionary.
Here at home, this care would provide a restful place to re-acclimate back into American culture, debriefing and pastoral care, help with felt needs such as medical concerns, grooming and clothing issues, and as the Lord provides; transportation to use while home on furlough.
Our missionaries need to be sustained in their ministry for the Lord. Author Kelly O'Donnell (2002, p. 6) reminds us that the attrition rate each year (about three percent or over 12,000 missionaries) is undesirable "because it is premature, preventable, and likely permanent."
If you would like to support this ministry please share it with the missionaries you support and allow us the opportunity to minister to them when appropriate. Steve and Becky want to be a viable part of keeping our missionaries healthy and energized to stay on the field; reaching people for Christ and bringing honor to the Lord.
